Updating to your latest HDDRIVER version

For HDDRIVER and HDDRUTIL there are not just some snapshots but there are tested releases. Even if you have not upgraded to the latest available major version, you can download the latest HDDRIVER release you are registered for.
This means, for instance, that users of HDDRIVER 9 can download HDDRIVER 9.10 (the last release of the HDDRIVER 9 series), in case of HDDRIVER 10 you can download HDDRIVER 10.18, in case of HDDRIVER 11 version 11.14, in case of HDDRIVER 12 version 12.79 etc. Note that releases older than 7.1 are not offered for download.
Ensure that in the download form you excactly enter the name you are registered with (the one from the registration email). In case of issues, e.g. because you have lost your license number, just contact me by email.
It is recommended that you save your downloaded copy, because downloading the same release again from a different IP address will be blocked to prevent abuse. With the next release you will automatically be unblocked.

To perform the actual update, just launch HDDRUTIL and in the drive window double-click your boot drive, usually C:. During an update, the settings of an already existing driver file HDDRIVER.SYS are automatically re-used, so that there is no need to configure the new HDDRIVER after the installation.

In order to stay up to date regarding new releases there are several options:

1. If you have an Android smartphone, simply install the Hddriver News app. Whenever there is anything new you will get a push message. With the app you can also query your current license status or send support requests.
2. Subscribe to the RSS or Atom feed. You find the corresponding links on the HDDRIVER news page.
3. Sign up to this forum and subscribe to the Announcements section. Only the HDDRIVER forum guarantees reliable information. Unfortunately information on HDDRIVER and on mass storage with the Atari in other forums, on Discord or YouTube is often outdated or even wrong.
