Cubase CBX and enabling SCSI arbitration in hddriver 8.43

Post by blaylok »

Hi, I have been having a few issues getting Cubase CBX to record audio onto an externally mounted iodata idsc21-a adapter with a 512mb cf card.

The error seems to indicate that my 512mb cf card needs to have scsi arbitration enabled within hddriver. I am running a full version of hddriver 8.43.

Just wondering how do i go about enabling scsi arbitration?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

kind regards,

Hi,

SCSI arbitration is only needed if you have two SCSI initiators (two computers) connected to the same SCSI chain. As this is not the case with your setup must have to do with something else.
Some devices, though, require initiator identification in order to work properly. HDDRIVER actually provides both, initiator identification and arbitration, as soon as you have configured a SCSI ID for your TT in HDDRUTIL's SCSI driver setup. (In order words, SCSI arbitration is automatically used by HDDRIVER, you cannot separately switch it on or off.) By default HDDRIVER uses SCSI ID 7, and because of this default it is also unlikely that the SCSI ID setting has something to do with your problems.
I don't know the adaper hardware you are using, maybe Atari users in other forums have the same hardware and can provide assistance. My adapter is the SCM PCD-50B, which works fine both for CF and SD cards.

Best regards

Uwe

PS. Like with any other SCSI device it's important, of course, that there is nothing wrong with your cables and the bus termination.
