HDDRIVER and Yamaha 426 SCSI CDROM

Post by midipuppies »

Hi, I am trying to use a Yamaha CDROM drive with my Falcon. HDDRIVER is seeing the drive but I cannot access it at all. It is on SCSI ID 4 and is the only SCSI device on the buss.

Hi,

you need a CD-ROM driver, e.g. ExtenDOS pro, to access CD-ROM or DVD drives. HDDRIVER is a hard disk driver, but not a CD-ROM driver, which is something different.
HDDRIVER supports the SCSI Driver software interface, though, which provides means for developers of third-party drivers to access any device type without having to write low-level code.

Best regards
